Chili's Is In the House

Something delicious is happening in the LMS Lobo Diner! Our students welcomed special guest chef Jessica Daniel from Chili's, who brought her culinary expertise to the classroom and taught students how to prepare Street Corn Chicken Rice Bowls! Everyone had a job in the kitchen! Riley McMahan and Alyiah Salazar marinated chicken with chili powder and garlic. Trinity Carrillo, Nevaeh Gomez, and Rachel Carrillo whipped up delicious cilantro-lime rice, while Xavier Castro-Vela and RJ Bremea roasted corn and turned it into a flavorful street-corn topping! When all the ingredients came together, students built their own bowls and enjoyed every bite! But this experience was about more than making a delicious meal! Students practiced teamwork, food preparation, following directions, and valuable culinary skills that can help prepare them for future employment and independent living. We send out a huge thank you to Jessica Daniel with Chili's and Mrs. Young for investing your time and talents in our students! Experiences like these help our Lobos gain confidence, discover new interests, and learn skills to find their place!
