Dr. Hes Reads!

One of the greatest privileges of being superintendent is getting out of my office and into our classrooms to spend time with the students who make Levelland ISD so special! I had the pleasure of joining Ms. Franklin’s 6th Grade Honors English class at Levelland Middle School for a dramatic reading of Edgar Allan Poe’s The Cask of Amontillado! What a great experience to bring this suspenseful story to life as students explored setting, point of view, and the clues Poe cleverly leaves for his readers! As superintendent, I spend much of my time in meetings, making decisions, and working to ensure our students have the best educational opportunities possible. But nothing compares to actually being in a classroom, interacting with students, seeing their excitement, and watching learning happen right before my eyes. These moments remind me why we do what we do every single day! Thank you, Ms. Franklin, for inviting me into your classroom! I enjoyed every minute of sharing a little suspense, a little literature, and a lot of learning with our Lobos! I'm glad to be a part of helping students find their place!
