To Market, To Market!
Ms. Espy’s LMS 5th Grade students wrapped up the year with an exciting Market Day project! Students created their own businesses and presented them to the class, gaining hands-on experience in entrepreneurship and financial literacy. Through this fun activity, students learned the value of money, practiced handling transactions, calculated costs, and determined profits. They also strengthened their writing skills by creating advertisements such as commercials, posters, flyers, and business cards to promote their businesses. Students reflected on their experiences through opinion papers and reflections, analyzing what made their businesses successful and what they might change in the future. Market Day also encouraged teamwork, responsibility, communication, and social skills as students interacted with customers and managed their own “businesses.” What a creative and engaging way to end the school year!
