College & Career Ready

LMS students in Mrs. Missy Passmore’s College and Career class recently celebrated CTE Month by exploring the many career paths they could pursue in the future. But this wasn’t just talking about jobs, it was time to put their skills to the test! As part of the Manufacturing Career Cluster, students teamed up to take on an exciting challenge: designing and building paper airplanes. Each student had an important role in the “company.” Some served as safety coordinators, making sure everything ran smoothly. Others worked as freight and material movers, maintenance crew members, design engineers, assemblers, and inspectors. There was one big rule: no switching jobs! Everyone had to stick to their assigned role, just like in a real workplace. After all the planning, building, and teamwork, it was finally time for the moment of truth. The classes tested their paper airplanes to see how well their engineering skills worked. With creativity, collaboration, and a little friendly competition in the air, students had a great time learning what it takes to be part of a real manufacturing team.
