Meet the New LMS Principal!
Levelland ISD is pleased to announce that our own Laurie Jones, was named Principal of Levelland Middle School. She was born here and went through the Levelland ISD school system. After high school, Mrs. Jones attended South Plains College. She obtained her Associate Degree before graduating from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a minor in history. She completed her collegiate studies after obtaining her Master’s Degree in Educational Administration.
Mrs. Jones is married & has four children & six grandchildren. Her husband Kirk, works in the oilfield. Her daughter, Alyssa is an RN & she & her husband have three children. Mrs. Jones' oldest son Tyson, is a coach and government teacher. He and his wife have a baby girl. Her middle boy, Trenton is also a coach and a government/economics teacher. Her youngest son, Tandon & his wife have two baby boys. He is a regional manager for a retail store.
Laurie began her teaching career in LISD at the old junior high school, teaching 8th and 9th grade history. She taught history for 22 years and then became an Assistant Principal at Levelland Middle School for the last 7 years. She was named the Levelland Middle School Principal in May of this year.
Mrs. Jones says, "I am incredibly excited to have the opportunity to continue to work with our students in a new capacity. As principal, I will continue to create an atmosphere of trust, positivity, communication, diversity, and safety at Levelland Middle School. I am looking forward to meeting and getting to know our incoming students and continuing to build strong relationships with returning students. I am eager to welcome our parents as partners in their children’s education, and I am strongly committed to ensuring that all children are learning and growing academically. I truly can’t wait to participate in all of the good things that will happen at Levelland Middle School in 2024-2025!"
